ERROR: Failed to run minecraft

I just downloaded the World of Minecraft client and put the minecraft.jar in the lib folder. But when I run "run.bat", it comes up with this message at the end:
ERROR: Failed to run minecraft
JAVA6="C\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\java.exe"
Press any key to continue...
Does anyone know what to do?

I've been having the same
I've been having the same problem. The only two folders I have in the Java directory are jre6 and jre1.6.0_07. Should I have one that says jre1.6.0_21? It's the current version, I'm sure of that.

Just right click on "run" click "edit" then find were it says jre1.6.0_07 and change to you version of java... if you have most recent java it would be jre1.6.0_21 i believe unless thats jdk but anyways just change to your version of java!
