Error: Failed to save Level (OS X 10.6)

This error message shows up every time I attempt to save a map.
I'm currently running on OS X 10.6, and I've had no trouble getting World of Minecraft to work unless I try to save.
The search button offers no results, and google isn't helping much either.

I don't blame you
I built a whole city in one day! (7 hours) I tried to save like 27 times, and boy was I mad, I want my 7 hours back!!!

I have a similar issue, except my client will freeze, crash, and not save any progress. But If I save and quit, it will save.
I did the repair permissions bit, the java max memory is 1gig, im lost. The repair permission did make the play last longer, before crashing.
I like the game.. but this is really a problem.
