I keep getting this error after i run the "run.bat" file. it was working fine a few days ago.

Ive tried right clicking the run.bay and changing the location of my java.exe but it still doesn't work ive tried also re-downloading and that didn't work then i tried getting a different minecraft.jar file and nothing.

You might want to check that you have the right java installed. The same error message on a 64-bit system when I realized the regular download was 32-bit. I was able to resolve the issue by getting the 64-bit edition. Don't know if that's the system you're on, but I had a lot of headaches from that error :D

can anyone help me with this problem ive done everything. i know i have the right program downloaded for my system and java is up to date and ive already checked my firewalls. also i would like to add that the client was working when i first got it then the next morning i got up and turned on my comp then i got this error over and over.
