I have been digging down and I found this room with a cage around a burning spider and I broke it :( I wanted to see if I can move it so just incase I took a screen shot if anyone wants to see it so yeah how do you make those spider cages because I think that its pretty cool and also what do the green stone blocks do? I can't melt them or anything and I can't make a pick or anything so what can I do with them?

Spider block = mob spawner. You went into a dungeon, I assume you're playing on peaceful...

Congrats! you found a dungeon. The spider cage is a mob spawner and this one spawns spiders. :D :o
Look in the chests and there should be some stuff, possibly a pig saddle too :o yay

Yeah I did get a pig saddle cool I didn't know thats what that was I also got 2 buckets and 7 of something I forget the name of but its the silver blocks to make items and stuff and yeah I am playing on peaceful for now just so I can get weapons and get all this stuff because I always mess up and lose everything all the time and I recently learned a lot of things but right now I just want to get some good stuff and then I will start to kill zombies and things. Oh yeah and I also got 7 strings so now I can make a bow :D I like my base a lot right now I made it so you take water down it to get inside of it

you put torches on all sides of the 'spider cage' (i know it's called a mob spawner because i made a house out of them) so the mobs don't spawn (mobs can only spawn in the dark)
