If you look underneath your forum username, you will notice a little bar with a title directly above it. These badges are earned from acheiving a certain amount of posts on the forum. The amount of points a user has is shown to the far right of the title bar (an obvious position). You will notice that my forum badge is "Epic Contributor", which is earned by posting 1000 times in the forum.
To my knowledge there are no legitimate Epic Contributors, including me. Meaning they have all farmed their points from various topics or other methods. The most farmed topic being "Ban the user above you" where you will notice the same few users posting in the topic repeatedly.
Some of the users have been using the post voting system to upvote their own posts and other user's posts, which they upvote many indiscreetly. You will notice topics where every post is upvoted once or more times without the post being worthy of an upvote.
To those of you farming the forum points. You earn nothing from your higher points. If you're only farming for the Epic Contributor badge to make yourself look important, it doesn't give you any more powers on the forums. You don't get any more priviledges than if I created a new account with 0 points. Anyone who sees your Epic Contributor badge will know that you farm and can prove it by looking through your recent posts. Posting "Nice job" or "Good skin" on terrible skins that appear in the Active Topics bar make it even more obvious that you farm.

I havn't posted in a forum game many times, definetely not deliberately for the intention of obtaining more points. I have though upvoted most of my own posts. So I would say I am fairly close to legitimant

dude! r u serious! u upvoting your posts is just illy and makes u look like ur fighting to get a high rank by unfair means...i dont know if anyone else sees it that way but i do and anyhow u take it its still farming for points..and all your posts have votes and its usually 1-3 votes none of your post have 0 posts -.-

My posts having more than one vote means that others voted on them, I can only vote on my own once.
This statement further strengthens me saying that I post meaningful things.
If up voting your own posts is a serious offense then I will stop doing it, Also I would suggest it's coded so you can't vote on your own posts.

Maybe when you post things that aren't in the skins section or when you're backseat modding they are reasonable. But a majority of your points are from upvoting.

Honestly I could care less if my points are reset, It is very clearly stated that what I did is not tollerated among the community. I had no clue as to what point farming really was or why it matters for that reason.
