ok, so without using the client I was on a server (CB something...) and I was using my Internet browser firefox and I was over 200 FPS with the fog/render distance as far as it will go, but when I use the client I get under 10 with the same render distance so now I have to run it at normal which kinda sucks
is there a way that I can play with a good fps (30 would be great at far distance)?
ps- have increases the memory required from 800 to 1000 but it ddnt help any...
The client uses less RAM than the browser, as the browser has to run Java AND the browser itself, whilst the client just runs java.
I have a reletively new iMac with 2gigabytes if ram and I modified the .sh file to use 2000 and it didn't do anything for my fps... the game runs great using the browser (200+fps) but sucks with the client... my graphics arnt that bad, I have an ATI RADEON 2600pro and runs wow with 80 fps with all graphics and sound, I mean EVERYTHING maxed out...
ps- where have you been miclee??? havnt seen u since we started the nuclear bunker
I wouldn't set the client to run at 2000mb, I'm actually surprised it loaded when you only have 2gb of ram.
I would keep it to 800/1024.
Load up activity monitor before you launch the client and check how much ram you have free.
before I run the game I have around 1.30Gb (gigabytes) free, give or take
I find that the client starts up a tad bit faster when using 2000, granted I'm not running iTunes or anything else... is there a line of code or something I could change that would boost my FPS?
ps- when I'm running the client at 2000, my available ram drops down to about 800-900Mb (megabytes)

i have the same exact problem, i hve narrowed it down to a RAM space problem, because the client uses java, and java like to eat A LOT of RAM. but then again i could be wrong and it could just be tht the GFX card is bad. right now im just asking around (havnt gotten answers) but IMO its most like the RAM usage, i need a ram upgrade, and maybe you too
