Getting World of Minecraft Client to run in Ubuntu 10.10 - Help

Hello, I am having some difficulty running the Client Wrapper to run in Ubuntu 10.10. I know the .bat won't work, and I try running the Mac OSX file in terminal and using Java and neither option makes it work. How do I get it to work?
