My house constantly gets blown up by creepers every night. At the moment i've boarded everything up and made the windows out of glass so that the only way out is through a series of doors. I have lots of diffent tunnels under my little snowy grotto which lead to other islands. I have surrounded most of my house with water and even put a moat around it but they keep coming. I hear them everynight.
Does anyone have any ideas on how i can make my house more secure?

Yea, I've had some spawn inside of my mine and house. The only thing I can think of to keep mobs in general out of your house is to increase the amount of light (no dark areas). Make sure the tunnels aren't dark or they're suitable areas for night mobs to spawn.

they can spawn in your house seriously? Guess i'll be sticking to peacefull mode from now on. Can monsters get through doors or one block holes as well?

Yupp, and mobs can't open doors. I think spiders may be able to get through one block holes, but I'm not 100% sure about this.

Well, i would say create a land mine system with red stone around your house for example:
x=Pressure Plate
z=TNT
y=redstone
xxx
zzz
zzz
zzz
or
xyyyzzz
zzz
zzz
This is a good system if you have the resources available, or create a moat around your house/base, but make it 3 blocks wide.
P.S have everywhere well lit.

I've extended the moat to four blocks width now so that should stop most of the mobs. I also think that there might be a cave right next to my mine which is in my house. I blocked it off best i could but does being next to a cave make the chances of them spawning in my house higher?
