Hi everyone,
I'm a student at UCSD and I started playing Minecraft as a part of an
assignment for my computer games studies course. I've been playing on
one of the school servers with my friends and it's
been going fine for the most part, although there is now a griefer going
around and destroying all of our monuments..
One of the requirements for the assignment is that we interview a few
players. Since the only people on the server are fellow classmates...

Thanks for your response. What do you do when you admin? It's pretty hard to track what people are doing in the game.. on our server we're considering making a whitelist.

Monitor chat, provide help and help users out with any questions they have in regards to servers or how do use certain commands.
It's not hard to track using our system.

I play mostly on weekdays,maybe a couple of hours. My motivation is that this game gives you a ton of freedom,you can build,kill,raid,and even then the methods of these actions are up to you.And there's also the community you can show off to and also see their accomplishments,which is why Minecraft has lots of hits in Youtube. What attracted me to this game has the same reply. Yes, i know other players and one of then is my RL friend. I sometimes make new friends but i dont go too deep with them tough,when you play pvp there's a lot of backstabbing. I do everything the game allows me to, like building,killing,raiding and interacting.Its fun.

found it by mistake then found out its popular and loads of mates play in secret lol

made loads new mates and still play with my actual mates (sometimes)

mostly I mine or farm, but when I do start building they are big builds

How much do you play? About 3-6 hours a day when I can get away with it.
What motivates you to play?
Imagination is the only limit to what you can build.
What attracted you to this game?
Saw my son playing it and I just had to try. It was the freeform building features that attracted me.
