World of Minecraft is proud to present the latest in our contests; a halloween themed one. We are celebrating halloween by having a contest for you to show off your skills by carving pumpkins.

Along with the in-game minecraft pumpkin carving competition, we are also giving you guys the chance to show off your inner artist by carving a real pumpkin. If you take a picture of your carved pumpkin, and include your in-game name and World of Minecraft on a piece of paper, then you will be eligible to receive a unique award and also receive bonus points should you also make a pumpkin in-game.
This contest is for members higher and including the rank architect.
RULES:
* You may not ADD to your area to make it larger. Your creating must be in this 50x50 area, either sculpted from the pre-made pumpkin, or on your own pumpkin.
* No fills
* Hacks are allowed.
* You can post here in order to be in the contest, or simply ask for an allocation when the competition starts.
* Only things that you build in your allocated area will be considered.
* Normal server policy applies.
JUDGING:
* Judging will be done after the competition is ended.
TIME:
* The competition will begin at 12AM EDT Oct. 25th and will run to 12AM EDT Oct. 30th.
PRIZE:
The winners will receive:
* A promotion for first and second place(member, to designer, or designer to architect)
* An award to be displayed in your /status
* And quite possibly a secret prize!

So i got the client thing that you use for flying etc. I put the minecraft jar file in the lib folder and klicked run. Then I get a message saying "could not find main file: Main" help :S

An admin told me that it ends at 6:30 PM because where I'm from it was 12:10 AM (Pacific Coast Time) at the time I asked him, and I was glad to know that I had 17 hours left... Now that its 10:00AM right now, I only have 8 hours, and the server is down... The clock is tickin... and my Billy Mays pumpkin head may never be finished unless there is an extended date to compensate the hours that this server was down... however its just me, I guess, but this would be greatly appreciated if this does happen.

What you say is true. And (NOT speaking from the staff point of view since i cannot speak for the higher-ranked) MAYBE they will because of the serious day of downtime we had because of maintenance on the whole server center (or whatever took all our servers down that day)
Then again. The contest had been running long enough, once that wanted to join and had big plans, started about a week ago because they knew they needed the time. The fact you couldn't make it, or didn't estimate your time well. Is your mistake. from that point of view, i don't think it will last longer then it did already.
I hope you find the time however, to finish your build before due!

I started my pumpkin on the 26th of October... just had school and stuff... so I couldn't really do much each day. Even though I poured countless hours into Billy Mays... I'm okay if it ended, because I've got more creations to dish out the next time I start a project...

i tried to add final touches to my pumpkin, but i couldn't get onto the server. The client, for some reason lists only 1 server as available, and the link posted here only connects me to minecraft.net which then load single player mode for some reason.

Minecraft.net is experiencing problems with heartbeats for all servers - this is not our problem but Notch's which happened during the Halloween update. We'll have it up for a few hours tomorrow so you guys can make the changes you need. When the servers go down we will push out our creative World of Minecraft server update that adds a few ranks and much more.
