I was OP'ing on a server and this person named Harlhank joins. I think nothing of it until I lose connection. Got the error about "Something something the game broke!"
I rejoin to find this guy outside the spawn jail (?) and everyone else disconnected.
I then get banned! What the heck?!
This guy somehow crashed everyone's client and gave himself operator/admin status.
Has anyone seen this before?

Either they have exploited the server when joining and received OP status, or they were given it by a real OP. This is actually very common with vanilla servers. They crash the server by sending illegal characters then ban all the users, which is silly because the server owner can easily undo changes made.
