I would first off like to apologies, I do not know if there has been a topic about this yet.

I have downloaded the client and extracted it, I have also downloaded the "minecraft.jar" file and put it in the .lib filder.

I go to click the "run.bat" and the cmd window opens but in a fraction of a second it closes again. I have tried running the "run.bat" as the administrator and that did not work either.  My Java is updated and running fine, I JUST updated it. The game world find through the website, just can't get the World of Minecraft client to work.

Could it be my Windows firewall? I know it is not my Kaspersky Firewall. Is there a "service" in my "Task manager" that is "Stopped" that needs started again?

I am using HP Slimline with Windows Vista, AMD Athlon x2
