Hey guys. I'd like to host a Minecraft server on my Hostgator account. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to figure it out. Theoretically, after I upload the server files, set up a subdomain, and run the java command it should work. However, the java command doesn't work. Any thoughts?

Actually, you can host a minecraft server on hostgator. You just need to have the correct hosting plan. For this you will need either a VPS plan or a dedicated server plan. If you don't have one of these two plans, that's why it isn't working.

To host Minecraft server on Hostgator or Bluehost, you definitely need to purchase at least a dedicated server for Minecraft because of some hardware requirements for the Minecraft game server.
