If you want a custom skin u need to go buy the beta version. Once you have done that go to minecraft.net and sign in. Then go to the profile tab at the top and go to custom skin and browse for your skin. Then hit upload and you have a new skin.

mmmm if uve downloaded the skin you must goto your World of Minecraft folder and go into lib/minecraft. and delete the "char" pic and replace with ur downloaded pic, call ur pic "char" or World of Minecraft will keep crashing, will only affect you, to get the pic onto the folder u must copy the pic

Sorry, but to use a skin for World of Minecraft or Minecraft you have to buy the game from the site minecraft.net

to modify the default player skin using the World of Minecraft client: right click the World of Minecraft icon and click open file location, then open the "lib" folder, then open the "minecraft" folder and replace the char.png with the new skin. If your changing the block texture do the same exept replace the terrain.png with the new file
(note) always back-up the files your modifying
and you might need to rename the .png file
