Optifine (Optional, but Highly Recommended)

Installation 1 (No Optifine)
First, install Forge, since we're not using Optfine, go ahead download the latest version.
You will get pop up after running the installer, click the option that says "client". It should be the first one.
After it finishes, open the MC Launcher and look for a profile named "forge". If its there, we can move on, if not, try again.
Now, we want to get into the .mincraft folder.
For Windows, open the "run" application, and enter %appdata%.
For Mac OS, open Finder, then Go, and type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

You should see a folder named .minecraft, open it.
Then look for a folder named "Mods". IF there isn't one, either reinstall forge or make one.
AFter you have found/created a Mods folder, drag the Xaero's Minimap .JAR into that folder.
You should be good to go, enjoy!

Installation 2 (With Optfine)
Follow all the steps above, but instead download Forge Verison 12.16.0.1801.
Then just drag and drop Optifine and Xaero's into the mods folder.

If you're lazy and don't care about optifine or your PC, you could always go to skydaz(dot)com But you are better off doing it yourself.
