I am getting extremely large amounts of lag. [SOLVED][LOCKED]

Recently when I have been going on World of Minecraft I have noticed that I am getting EXTREME amounts of lag. The chat will usually last about 30 seconds and then it will lag again for another 5 minutes. I really do not know what to do and it is at a point where I just can't play due to the unresponsive commands and such.
I really don't think that it's my computer because it has been running perfectly fine for the past four weeks. I'm using the World of Minecraft client by the way..
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really annoying me and I just can't play with all of the lag.

Nevermind, I fixed the problem by downloading the newest World of Minecraft client version.
