I love the World of Minecraft client and have always tried to use it online with my friends normal server. Does he need to build a special server for me to connect? Whenever I try, it says connecting briefly, then says I lost connection. On the console, it says

[INFO] Disconnecting /127.0.0.1:53439: Protocol error

So how do i make it so i can connect to him.
