Hi, I get in excess of 70 emails a day from World of Minecraft. I've now started just sending them straight to spam.
How do I close this account and get away from all this garbage

You got the email because you were auto subscribed to any thread you posted in.
I disabled this for you.
Also please, 70 emails a day is a damn lie. You were subscribed to the Age group thread and you would have recieved 20 emails max from it and that would have been since the thread started.
