Infdev (Alpha Mode) is not compatible with the current public World of Minecraft Servers, as those are not Infdev (Alpha Mode), they are creative mode.
In alpha, you mine blocks and use them to build other things.
In creative, you start will all the blocks with the specific intent of building with them.
They are two completely different things you see.
