indtalling texture packs

ok i umm.. oh yeah soory mind blank there.

when i downloead a texture pack, it is downloaded as a .zip
i un zip it in the texturepack folder but when i run beta its not there.
i move the whole .zip file into the texturepack folder but it turns grey and i cant select it
HELP!

maybe i forgot to mention this but the .zip file i download always turns up empty

i dont have smp but im pretty sure you move the terrain.png into he texture packs older.
Correct me if im wrong but thats how i THINK it goes
