.Jar File not working?

I put the .jar file into the lib folder and start run.bat.
I get " Could not find the main class: Main. Program will exist. ERROR: Failed to run minecraft"
If i run the .jar file, the game starts fine. Seems to be only in World of Minecraft.
Maybe I didnt read enough, and for that I apologize. But i didnt see the answer immediately available.

Did you get the minecraft.jar
Did you get the minecraft.jar file from the link in the tutorial or did you copy/paste the file from your Minecraft app folder?

I'm on Windows 7.
So I Ran in compatibility mode for XP... Now i do not get Could not find the main class: main...
All i get is error failed to run minecraft after detecting java.
I updated Java. Same problem.
