Killing Blaze Mobs in the Nether [SOLVED]

Hello there everyone,
Thought Id sign up to see if I can get some help with a little problem I am having......if thats alright with you all.
Been playing our beloved game for about 6 months and have never really needed to ask questions or advice.
However!.......Ive been desperately trying to get some Blaze Rods in the Nether from killing Blaze's. Ive set up elaborate traps near spawners so I can get good shots off at them and not set all alight!
Ive killed up close by waiting by a spawner.........Ive killed over 20 of the bastards and yet.......NOT ONE SINGLE BLAZE ROD dropped.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? as I said, Im killing them from distance with regular arrows and up close with an iron sword (dont like taking my diamond into the Nether).
Also, they are dying over ground and Im picking up their experience orbs.....so its not because the good stuff is dropping in the lava, there is no good stuff!
I want my stronghold locator!!! lol
Any help would be appreciated.

I can't find anything which would mean that you were not getting any drops, so i guess that you are just being REALLY unlucky

Yeah, you won't get them a lot of the time, I get one like every 5 or so, so I think you are probably just unlucky as far as they are concerned. :D
Also, you will need more than one eye of ender to find a stronghold AND fix the portal, the portal uses 12 so I would recommend taking at least 16. :)

Really, just plain and bad luck. I don't think the drop rates are any different
from other mobs, as i get drops from them just as frequent as any other mob.

Thanks for the replies fellas.....in between posting that and now, Ive managed to get 2 Blaze rods and make my Eye of Ender!
I think you guys are right, I was just being stupidly unlucky......I mean, I found a Blaze spawner so had loads of shots at them, as I said about 20 or so and then I tried again and got 2 rods in a row from them! lol.
However, rushing back up the real world (you know what I mean ) to use my Eye of Ender......the damned thing broke after 4 throws!.......man am I unlucky.
Ohh and sorry for the swearing Roland, just me, I shall adjust.

I have rarely seen blaze mobs in the nether. Maybe there is a percentage of when it drops items and when it doesn't. Just keep trying is all i can suggest.
P.S. You wouldn't mind watching the language on the forums, just a rule we have. Thanks.
