Hey there World of Minecraft! I have recently joined the Invisible Children Co. and I wanted to post here that everyone knows who the biggest Douchebag in the history of the world is. Joeseph Kony.
Kony abducts children from their parents and makes them into children soldiers. He forces the kids to take a gun, and kill their parents. He abducts girls and makes them his SEX SLAVES!!! He has been out in Central Africa (Originated in Uganda) just forming his army of kids to kill everyone for 26 years!!! Together, we can all come together and arrest him! I've made some Forum BBCode Signature pictures for "Kony 2012" Here is one:
So, Together we can all stop Kony and his horrible actions!
Here is the video that convinced me to join the ICC!

Visit http:\\www.kony2012.com for more details on this horrible man!
Has this crap really made it here too?
In a nutshell liar there's this video that was release promoting a campaign to make Kony dictator famous. To try to force the US to capture him. However, this video disgusts me, and puts me totally off about the "campaign". I've been involved monetarily and morally in support of this cause and the Sudan cause since WAY before this "campaign". This campaign is nothing more than a ploy to save face for the Obama campaign, and his military action in Uganda.
Yes, I think Kony should be brought to justice, but this entire campaign just disgusts me that they are using such a travesty to self promote their company, and help boost the Obama campaign for the up and coming 2012 presidential elections :(
Now, before I go on, this is my opinion, and I'm entitled to voice it to the public.
First off, why do you even care? What is raising awareness about this issue going to do? All you're doing is hitching a ride onto this issue and trying to get some attention. What is the point of telling everyone about some child slaves if you are not going to even bother doing anything about it? Have you not heard the saying, "Actions speak louder than words"? I can easily compare this to an analogy:
Basically, say that you see a fight, and someone is getting beaten up really badly. Because you're raising awareness about it, but not going to do anything, its like saying you're a bystander in the fight, and watching the guy get beaten up, but not going to bother intervening or calling the cops. This then leads on to you gossiping to your friends about it, and telling everyone to tell their friends about the guy getting beaten up. As in this analogy, you're just telling everyone about it, and how badly you felt for said issue, but you didn't do anything to try and help stop it.
All in all, if you're gonna say how badly you feel for all these kids and how sad you think they must be, but not go out and donate money or volunteer to collect donations or whatever, then you shouldn't even bother to tell anyone about it, nor have any right to do it in the first place. Nobody wants to hear how much you feel for them, and nobody is going to give a damn unless you do something about it.
-Skyara
You're analogy makes some sense, but not in this scenario. It would go more like this:
The guy who watches the fight is an ant. He sits there going, "OMG THIS IS SO BAD!!!" So then he tries to go to the giants. He screams, "GUYS THEY'RE FIGHTING STOP THEM!" But the giants can't hear him, for he's an ant. So then he gathers up a million of his little ant friends and they all scream it together. Then the giants hear them and throw a rock at the bully. The bully gets smashed, the child leaves WITH bruises (I have to admit that because this has been going on for 10 years), but alive.
Ants can't do anything. But giants can.

I'm willing to bet you or anyone else who supports this has NO clue as to the problems in Sudan do you? No, you don't or you'd be posting it here too. It's the same exact region, and no one seems to be talking about the genocide and torture of people in Sudan and how hordes of refuges have flooded out of Sudan for their lives and freedom. Go google images of "problems in Sudan" and see what the issues really are before anyone else tries to hop on the bandwagon for the Kony 2012...
I don't like kony because he's making more of ME. There's only 1 boy_soldier in town... and its ME!
and girls as sex slaves... mmmmeeehhhh... i wudnt mind
scratch the last bit. i do mind
but on a less serious note Joeseph Kony puts the infant in infantry
(i hate myself to)
Even though I can't stand this campaign, boy_soldier your initial comment is totally disgusting. These girls are FORCED to be raped every single day until they are no longer of use to the kidnappers, then they are disposed of like trash.
Keep cracking jokes, one day you'll grow up and understand compassion for other humans. There's nothing funny at all about what these people are going through. Skyara and I's position on this is more, promoting this campaign doesn't do ANYTHING for the situation besides say: "Hey I know something that's going on!"
This isnt our issue..posting this on a minecraft servers website wont do anything to stop kony nor bring the US military or others into action.
If u really want to help, try posting a thread suggesting everyone writes to the president about it via email. If enough people send the message, he might actually do something about it.
Come on! That's the point of this! To spread the word so that as many people can know about it so that the President and Congress can see how many people care! Do you think they'll do anything if one guy just stands there and demands it? If you do, you have problems. He and all the other people, including the person who started this Kony 2012 thread on World of Minecraft, are spreading the word for a good reason. And you also said, "try posting a thread suggesting everyone writes to the president about it via email." Well you see why he can't do that? Because of people like you who just sit there and complain that someone is trying to do something for a good cause, which is probably something you couldn't do! He didn't ask for emails because he knows that SOMEONE will do that, that SOMEONE will try to help in a bigger way than normal people. So could you just please, and I did say please because you do have the rights to be a butthead, please be quiet and let the good people try to do something.

I know about the stuff going on in sudan....leanred that in world geo.
Its far better than what it was though...as a result of the genocide. south sudan was formed but yet people in darfur region are still victims of genocide that continues.
Everyone expects the government to do something about it. We all know the government couldn't even tie their shoelaces without us, the people, supporting them.
Besides, tactically speaking, what kind of government would diverge military power to a small African country? It's almost like you WANT the government to start another war.
Things are NOT better in Sudan. Not in the least bit. Things have just changed, and people have stopped reporting as much on it. Trust me, I've been actively involved in campaigns supporting the refuges over there.
It's exactly what Skyara said, what do you honestly think the government is going to do? Send a diplomat over and ask for his arrest? No, America is going to flood soldiers in devastate the area, all to try to kill...oh I'm sorry I mean arrest one man. Case and point Iraq...
Heres the thing...the representatives and the president are supposed to be the figurehead of the people (democracy literally means people-government or a government run by the people) And unless the people request that something be done, then the government of todays world does nothing except try to get us out of an economic mess unsuccessfully.
If the UN is doing nothing and the USA is doing nothing...whos to say Kony wont STOP AT NOTHING to take control of more countries in Africa?
And trust me Sudan is a lot better than it was in the past. The only reason the USA wont do anything about it because of "Blackhawk down" in Somalia. That basically meant that if it didnt involve our personal intests such as oil, resources or important democracies/allies, we would not get involved in African affairs. And yes i recognize that there is still genocide in Sudan, (I'm not ignorant and stupid) but as of now, its really only in the darfur region and less in the south than it was in the past because South Sudan is its own country now.
I agree that the USA and UN shouldnt turn their backs but guess what, they did it once before with Hitler, they're doing it now and they will most probably do it again before they finally learn their lesson or maybe it might just overtake them and we'll all be screwed, either way. The way Obama has been running, the budjet for solving our own problems is conflicting with that of helping others so we shoudl jsut focus on our own contries and let the others figure it out on their own.
About the only foreign affair he seems concerned with right now is Iran and their nuclear cababilities.
Not sure your age, or where you are getting your info, but I will say a few things that I've learned being on the ground level of supporting this cause. Remember, reading something via Google or your text books in school doesn't equate to what's really going on in the world.
Nothing has gotten better in Sudan, people are still being murdered, the rebels are still out of control, genocide is happening all the time there, and refuges are still flooding out of the country.
As far as Black Hawk Down, that did NOTHING to change foreign affairs with Africa, it also did NOTHING to change our military structure. Things like Black Hawk Down happen all the time, they just don't always make a movie or video game off it to make it so famous. You wouldn't even know about it if they hadn't made a movie about it.
Whether it's in South Sudan or North Sudan, what does that matter? It's still going on in Sudan right? Not to mention, nothing's stopped or gotten and better, it's just moving around and evolving. Don't try to debate semantics, it's the worst debate technique out there.
I once again will challenge your age and knowledge of the American government. The American form of government is NOT a democracy, that's a joke word the American government uses to keep the majority ignorant populous satisfied and civil. The American government style is actually a REPUBLIC. A republic is much like a democracy, but basically how it works is the people's voice is nothing more than loud gong to the government, it doesn't actually change anything. The government makes decisions based on what THEY think is best for the country, and simply take our votes and petitions as a suggestion.
What skyara and I are saying, is getting the American government to do something is pointless, that's just passing the buck, not to mention (which you apparently missed) what's that going to cause but another war, and another military action in another country.
Posting crap like this forum post or making that stupid Obama campaign Kony video does absolutely nothing besides what the video was intended for, to make OBAMA and the director of the video famous. The video is a well put together, dramatic, election ploy to get Obama reelected.
Your comments about Obama and what he is concerned about in foreign affairs shows me this debate will go no where, because you are obviously a young kid, who just learned a few things in school and now thinks you have it all figured out and are interested in politics but have a simple view of what they are all about. When I used to judge highschool debates that was a HUGE problem with you school kids, you read something in your text books and think it's solid knowledge, or you see something on youtube or Google and think it's true and solid, and then try to bring it to the debate.
Obama doesn't give a damn about nuclear capabilities. That's about as true as Bush caring about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Obama's foreign aid plan is about as focused as an old woman driving in the fog. He simply doesn't have one. All the crap you are hearing on the news about nuclear worries from the Obama campaign, you need to realize that all news stations have some sort of political pull or motivation behind them. Fox news will say one thing, then MSNBC will say the opposite.
My suggestion to you, is go to your local library and actually do some research, my next suggestion, is to go to your local COLLEGE campus and do some research in their libraries if you want to debate current issues and events, as the things you are saying here are very simplistic to the idea of modern day American politics...
What I said is down to getting the government to do something about it is pointless, try actually getting involved instead of just trying to be a keyboard warrior. This oh I'm going to get involved (clicks share) now I'm important and involved, mentality is narcissistic and useless...
No matter how much u seem to try to denounce my basis of argument, i want to know; Why would u think that the US would do anything that wouldn't involve a personal gain guarunteed in the end result of their help?
Exactly their isn't a reason because our society is ignorant and greedy. The US government is the worst of a corrupt buisnessman and a narcissist combined. Meanwhile they cover it up using the cloak of congress that supposedly is supposed to create laws and approve of actions to better the US citizens and there supposed "common interests". We all know they don't share our common interests as time and time again they go into wars and battles against our disapproval. No one wanted to get involved overseas originally because why? Because everyone said "It doesn't concern us, so why should we send soldiers to go fight for them?" We go into pakistan overnight for our own interests, books get burned people are furious while we try to salvage good relations with the government, people still being killed elsewhere and what do we do? Turn our backs on everything not concerning us like the ego-centric people we are here in the good old US of A. No one wants to hear it why? becasue they know it's true. And the truth hurts, so instead we warp it and turn it into a little thing we like to call the media. They never give the actual truth and if they do, they dont include all of it or maybe even make things seem worse than they actually are. Its like propaganda everyday and we're suckers for it, no one seems to care about good deeds...they want to see everything bad being done in OUR country but no one wants to hear about whats being done bad in places the US government has turned its back on.
Like in Hotel Rwanda "They'll just say, thats terrible, and go on eating their dinners and their everyday lives."
That's the America we live in, and its not changing no matter how hard the few that care try.
Stoping, shame on you. The US government has known about Kony since he started. We aren't stupid. This campaign isn't actually ANYTHING about the war that's actually going on over there, it's about raising money for that hipsters organization.
Kony hasn't been active for over 6 years now, and doesn't even know if he's still alive, so what the hell is making him famous going to do? The people there already know who he is, and what he looks like, our government has known about him since his start, so what the hell is the campaign going to solve? Nothing at all. It's a waste of time and effort just to get Obama reelected and to make people feel important so they can post it on their facebooks and feel like they did something important...
I for one on april 20th will be out tearing down any and all Kony 2012 posters I see, along with a few of my friends...
Not sure to lock or not...
This topic was long dead, why can't you leave it?
