Hi,
Is there a way to connect to a LAN server without going online?
When I try to add a local server via its LAN IP I just get an error saying the client couldn't parse it properly - it appears to be looking for the full http://....jsp
I have a rather complicated network setup and would much rather connect directly over LAN as you can with the normal minecraft client.
Hi Solarisfire,
thanks for the reply. Where is the multiplayer option in the World of Minecraft custom client? It just lists available online servers or gives you the option to enter a http://play.jsp address. If you enter anything else it says "Could not Parse the necessary parameters. Is the URL right?" I have tried entering the server machines lan IP as well as its host name and the same message comes up.
Are you wanting a creative or a alpha server?
Im trying to host an Alpha Server with this and Ive had no luck
I'm having the same problem trying to connect to my creative server on the same LAN as my client.

When connecting to a minecraft server on a lan you don't need to put http://
For one its not going to be using hypertext trasnsport protocol to play a game ;)
When it asks for the IP address just put the IP address or hostname of the server.
I have a minecraft server on my lan running on a server called linux-box1...
So after clicking multiplayer I just type linux-box1 in the box....
