Left and Right mouse clicks open Menu in Client. Help?

I downloaded and extracted the World of Minecraft Client, and I have entered several servers, but on all of the servers, when I click any mouse button, it opens the Menu, rather then doing the appropriate action(place/destroy a block).
I played Minecraft Classic on the official site, and it worked just fine.
I am guessing the problem is at the client?
