when i try to minecraft server1.3.1 it says wrong password so i went to edit and changed it but it still doesn't work. how do i fix this? :(

I had that problem earlier today, i believe it's just the minecraft servers being overloaded. I would just recommend waiting 30 minutes or so and trying again. It works for me now.
