lol
But srsly, help please. 10.5.8 Leopard OSX. 1 GB RAM. 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo...
see if you missed anything, and if not tell me where it goes wrong
I'll try it when I'm home.
I followed these steps:
Download .zip, extract (Yay for Macs auto extracting Zips)
Download Minecraft.jar, place in Lib folder
Open Terminal, type "sh", then drag the .sh into Terminal
And then it spits out the error. Did the same when I tried converting .sh to .command and running it... :/
Instead of the the last part about "Open Terminal, type "sh"...) Do open Terminal copy and past "sudo chmod u+x /path/to/file" and replace "/parth/to/file" with the .sh file.
"Open Terminal, type "sh", then drag the .sh into Terminal"
That was the first thing I did after remember the default opener for .sh was text editor >.>
I got it to work.
Your World of Minecraft client folder has to be in the desktop for it to work.
Do all the little blah blah with the .jar file in the lib folder.
Open terminal and type in cd (space) then drag the World of Minecraft client folder into the box. It shows up as the location of the folder in your computer with all the slashes and whatnot. Press enter. Then type chmod (space) osx (space) miecraft-osx.sh (enter)
That is the name of the file for macs in the World of Minecraft client folder. It will show an invalid something for file name osx, just ignore it. It means nothing.
What it does is makes the shell executable with terminal.
Then you close terminal and go into the World of Minecraft folder. Secondary click on the .sh file and click "open with," set it to all applications, find terminal, select it, and check the "always open with" box.
It will open the shell, coming up with a terminal window which you can't close and a box with login and password. The login isnt your World of Minecraft stuff it's what you use for the game. Then you should have it!
I hope this helped, it's how i got it to work.
All of this is explained on the same page where you downloaded the client...
look, if you don't have an intel processor Mac, your SOL. The client doesn't work for PPC macs, and anyone who gets the error message bad CPU type should know that it is your old computer, not anything you're doing. They just wont work, especially considering java stopped all support of PPC macs.
this is what comes up in terminal - http://twitpic.com/2r3rcy

Ramrod, I had the same problem -.-
Yeah i had the same problem as henry ^
Yeah i had the same problem as henry ^
I seem too have the same problem as these people ^
Same exact problem. Anyone have any idea at all as to how to fix it?
EDIT: Wow, I feel like such an idiot. Due to some error in the past with permissions or something, my home folder name ended up being "SinorKirby (Deleted)", and I have been unable to fix this. Due to this, there is a space in my home folder name, which made it so that the script could not find the required files. Moved it to my Applications folder on the hard drive and everything was fine.
same problem.... :/
same problem as all the others^!!!!!!!!!
Why can't they show guides? Like a better guide besides asking us to execute run.bat?
answer the question! ^
where is the lib folder mines an app
When I tried to place it in the lib folder it said that minecraft.jar could not be placed in lib because lib cannot be modified.
After I changed my Mac OS X account to Administrator, i could place the file quickly. Make sure Minecraft.jar and World of Minecraft are both on your DESKTOP. Not the World of Minecraft Game Client, the one titled World of Minecraft. I will now continue trying the next steps and report my findings.
guys i need to know where do i get my password give me a full guide! PLEASE!!!
WoM Coins: 17
I really want my Mac to run World of Minecraft client...
