So my McLawl server is officially dead, won't even start up anymore.
I greived, then moved on and downloaded McSharp classic software.
Because of my previous server, my ports were still forwarded perfectly (I had a regular player from Austria, no problem), and you can imagine how excited all the server mods were to seeing their old worlds back (I copied the .lvl files.)
I, naturally, was the first to go on via the minecraft site itself. It loaded fine with my name and MOTD correct, but as soon as it did load it gave me the red screen of death, with the foreboding message:
Client Error
The game broke! [Java.lang.NullPointerException]
I then treid with this site's downloadable (and excellent) client, to recieve the same error.
I beg you, help me sort this out, I want my server back!
maybe the old worlds not compatible
The thing is other people seem to be able to get onto the server. I watched teh server log and it showed other people entering then leaving. I presume they're having the same problem as me. The worlds a re definitely compatible as they're the same format as the main.lvl that is created automatically. I will try to re-install java.
I re-installed Java and nothing's changed.
There's another thing I found...
After it confirms that port 25565 is open, it gives me the message:
216.45.48.250 disconnected.
You know ow the doors in MCLawl can be connected, even if they are of different types? Like, door_wood can activate door_glass. But in MCSharp, different types of doors won't activate each other. Maybe you need to change the doors.
Now it won't evn show up on the multiplayer server list page. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
I deleted a few of the worlds that were causing the problem, works great now! Thank you all!
