Ok.. when i start minecraft no mater if its with the World of Minecraft client or Firefox or internet explorer the box where the game should be is black and i freezes the window. i have the latest version of java and my operating system is XP serves pask 3 i think. please help!

This means there's a problem with Java. Redownload it at Java.com.

That doesn't work Jon, I've been having the same problem trying to get on Survival for about 3 hours now.
I restarted multiple times... When that didn't work, I uninstalled and reinstalled Java then restarted again.
Still nothing to this moment.
It doesn't seem to work for multiplayer, single player or survival from the site, but the World of Minecraft client works perfectly fine.

when i goto minecraft.net cpanel comes up look http://www.minecraft.net/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi why is it not working for is it my browser cause i tryed on firefox normal internet and google chrome whats wrong

minecraft.net is run by five year olds. the servers havent been normal for an entire day since they switched to the "new servers". also notch is on vacation leaving his team of monkeys to work on beta when classic doesnt even run. why would you want to purchase from a company that can't even keep their servers up when they know they have millions of players.
its probably not your fault, basically. right now the servers are disabled on classic.
