So, on my survival world, i had been doing pretty well. I had an army of about 20 wolves holed up in a cobblestone house, some diamond armor, swords, and tools. I had gained all this through the snapshots for 1.3.

And, now, with 1.3.1 out, my computer was laggy, so i got optifine and didnt switch to 12w32a once it came out, because i didnt want to face the lag. So, today, i booted up my survival world and i went to go make my wolves have babies to extend my army.
But guess what? Most of 'em were gone. I think there were four left. So, i went to make them sit up to mate so i could regenerate my fallen troops. But they wouldnt stand.
So, i left the house to go find some more wolves with a half-stack of bones in hand, and, to my dismay, my area was free of wolves. Previously wolves were basically the only mobs that populated there besides monsters. But, however, i saw a bunch of pigs and sheep, previously rare finds in my biome.
So, i slaughtered a few, and went back to my wolf house, and the remaining wolves had vanished.
Is this a bug?If so do you have any fixes? I'd really apreciate it if you helped. Thanks :D

hmmm

I would guess that the update has messed up something with your biomes, that explains the other animals spawning, as for the wolves, sounds like they have randomly despawned like wild animals.

The only thing I could suggest if try downgrading again and see what happens, if your area gets lots of wild wolves back.
