My name is John, I'm a young, but professional freelance writer. While my first novel is being critiqued by a few agencies, I have begun working as a writer for flash games (most recently for the games wizard hult, paper venture sequel), and joined up with Aftershock Studios as the writer.
Anyway, I will soon be starting a minecraft inspired story series, and I am looking for followers, partners, advice, and just plain readers :) It will be updated 2 times a week on my upcoming writers blog. Criticism has all been very positive so far, and the story is already getting a little attention by those I've shared with. If anyone is interested, would like to exchange ideas or suggestions, or maybe even appear as a guest writer or artist on occasion, please follow me on twitter(jwingemi), and our studio (AftershockHQ).
Here's a small sneak preview. I know its not much, but I don't want to reveal too much just yet ;) I may be posting a little more soon.
“ …I spent my second night in the underground again. Thought I’d be safe down here, but trust my luck to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. I suppose I should be glad just to have survived the encounter. No, no sign of the monster again. I heard a couple of sirens once, but it sounded fairly far off. Guess he was off terrorizing the other end of the island last night. I don’t know who or what he was hunting, but after last night, I’ve learned something that troubles me greatly: I am not alone.”

a community around the series, so we need lots of readers and followers before we start to release. We will often be looking for guest writers and artists from our upcoming forums, and any other minecraft forums ;)

Thanks! I assure you my English teacher has given me many stars, smilies, and stickers of all kinds. Even a senior award, in fact. I graduated a semester early to start writing, and want to give this story a try before college.
I know I have the skills to make a great story, but I'm having trouble building an audience, and big publishers would be more willing to give me a chance if I get some followers from this free one. Don't want to start writing if no ones reading yet :(

Glad to hear your interested! The story will b available at www.aftershockstudioshq.com, but its not released yet. Still a week or 2 away, I've been busy with college orientation stuff. I will probly be releasing multiple entries each week, so i want to get a head start first :)
Tardis35- Great ideas! Creepers will definitely appear, and "spoiler alert" the nether will be crucial to the plot at the more dramtic point. And what is the nether without Ghasts? XD Btw, I did recreate the nether on the muezli server if your interested.(google fot the ip, i forget) We're working on getting ghasts in.
