My minecraft Beta wont work and i dont know why. my classic will but when i go on to beta it wont work. if i update it it says on the screen: Downloading packages. if i dont want to update it gets to about 95% and says done loading. i waited for about 30 mins and still no change. my laptop is a samsung R519/SA20/E521. PLEASE REPLY!!!

You don't need to, just delete the 'version' file.
To get into '%appdata%', go into menu and click run, or press 'windows-r' and type '%appdata%' without quotations.

BTW I have windows 7. does this change everything for minecraft. but thanks anyway you guys...

Windows 7 is better because Windows XP you dont have the search bar in the start menu and no it doesn't change everything for minecraft. In the search bar type %appdata% or .minecraft then you delete everyone in bin that is in .minecraft. The next time you run Minecraft, it will reinstall everything in "bin".

nope tried everything and still doesent work... it must be my computer...

Try deleting everything in "bin", found in ".minecraft", which is found in %appdata%, if your OS isn't Windows XP, I cant really help you, since these paths only exist in XP, I think. Anyway, the next time you run Minecraft, it will reinstall everything in "bin"
