K, so if (actually i will at one point but only when I've actually got the right stuff to buy it) i buy minecraft i want to know if anyone would make a special server that consists of rolepay!
By roleplay i mean like you get certain ranks (well not ranks but job/state ur in names) depending on what job you have and if your living on the streets you know...
Jobs could include:
Chef
Mechanic
Plumber
Electritian
Police
Architect
But there would be special places like:
Shops
Banks
Cafes
Arcades
Resturants
Hotels (My specialty!!! :D)
Buisness stuff...
Also special people or officials like:
Mayor
King
These would be like the admins/owner or executives.
People would set up their own buisnesses and have architects and/or builders make the building for it.
Currancy:

The currancy would be like this: (BTW I'm in the UK so i'm using Pounds to compare with, but you can pretend its your own currancy)
Coal= £1
Iron= £10
Gold= £50
Lightstone dust= N/A (Well you can't go to the nether in Beta Multiplayer yet so this can't be worth anything yet. (Hacked in lightstone won't count either))
Redstone= £75
Diamond= £100
Still, tell me what you think and i hope (When i get the game) this idea can become come to life for real!!!!! 8D

Sweet! Now as an architect, your job is to design the look of buildings and think of special themes depending on what building type you need to build is.
Your wages (Paid by the person who hired you) would be 2 Iron and 5 Coal for a small building, 3 Iron for a medium building, 1 Gold or 5 Iron for a large building and 1 Diamond for an Commercial Build.

To have a house, you must have enough money to even get prepeared for one. The costs will work like this, you will need money to pay the arch or builder who will build your house.

Can you build a house by yourself if you aren't an architect or builder, but be limited to a specific type and number of block/s?

If you have a house you might want to consider buying home inshurance, a company will be made about insurance.
When buying it will cost 3Iron and 5 Coal and you will need to pay 1 Iron a week. But if your house has been griefed or something has been stolen, you will recive 4 Iron for a little damage or something stolen and 1 Gold for mass damage.
P.S: I'm not so good at spelling Inshurance... @_@

I'd be more than willing to be an Electrician, and maybe double as a Plumber too. (Electrician means I get to work with Redstone circuits, right? I do love those).
On a friend's server, I made 3 rapid repeaters and a 5 clock timer....hooked them up to around 150ish doors. It was really cool, really useless, and also a lag machine. I don't get to use it anymore...but it's still really cool. :D
And Plumber means I getta mess around with routing water to places as well, right? Because I like doing both of those.

Yes, the electrician uses redstone and makes special circuits for those who ask for some. Electrician wages will be 5 Iron or 1 Gold for every circuit you have to make. The person who hired you will have to pay this to you.
As for plumber anything the has water in it will need to be linked up together in a sewer like pattern. It would be like this, if it was a toilet, you would have the seat but with the water under it. Look at this conviniant diagram!!! 8D

That would be a side view so:
W=Water
H=Halfstone (Halfstone must be used for a toilet seat)
The W's going down would be the water under the seat (halfstone) going down into the sewers which is the long line of W's (Water) at the bottom of the diagram.
Your wages would be 1 Gold and 3 Iron per minecraft day of working. But you must only link up the sewers to those who pay you the starting 1 Iron, then you link it up to their house. Companies pay you the 3 Iron and 1 Gold.

Redstone is very easy to get wen at bottom of map a gold is as rare or more than dimand (at least what i know)

Gold is .1% of blocks from bedrock to the 32cd layer above it. Diamond is .08% of blocks from bedrock to the 16th layer above it. Your argument is invalid. Redstone isn't VERY easy to get, it's just not hard to.

Sounds like a LOT of fun, kinda reminds me to Garry's Mod, with a few rp modes like DARK RP.
If I were able to join in, I think I would go architect, as it is always fun to come up with virtually impossible yet crazily awsome buildings =D.
Oh, but I did see one problem with the job list. You never mentioned miners lol. I know, I'm being finicky, but you have to admit that it is a LOT of fun to find a nice hillside, dig in and make a nice big shaft to get your minerals.

Ohh man, I totally agree. I love doing that.
My problem is, I'm terrible with deciding what I want to build, and when I do, it's normally a giant hut or tower with one room, or something crazy, but still one room. If I'm given designs...I could probably make something cool. We need lots of architects. Lots and lots and moar.

Police would need to have special training and trust as the police would be like the admins on other servers. You would have to have a clean history (AKA you must have never griefed in you time of minecraft) and must have special training which would be given to you by Police Cheifs (Special people who i pick).
You will be paid 1Lightstone dust 2 Iron and 1 Diamond.
As Police you would be on high alert to anyone stealing, griefing or spamming. Police rank would have a special command called /jail (username) which would jail that user into seperate cells. (That is if i can actually afford to even get anything like that!!! O_O

Guys (or those wondering what the ip is) this thing is still an idea that (obviously) will be going forward but not for a long time yet!
Now about me finally getting the game, i checked it up and talked about it with a friend of mine, BUT I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 5 BLOODY YEARS UNTIL HE CAN GET THE RIGHT CARD FOR ME!!!!!!!! O_O And before anyone asks, no. There is no other way but to wait for 5 years.
But in the meantime i'm making a list of jobs and currancy and making reservations for jobs from those who ask. But if anyone want to make a company they will have to wait until this server gets running.
So yeah, 5 years of waiting... but at least that leaves a lot of time to get reservations and jobs done! 8D

Miners work with bank people and they give 75% of hat they find to the bank. he rest is shared out between all the miners. There can only be up to 9 miners. Ofcourse exeptions can be made. :3

In more detail (well what'd ya expect? 8D), u would sell swords at diferent prices depinding on what they're made of. Also u would sell bows and sell arrows instacks of either 64, 32 or 16 or 48.

My idea was for players to actually be able to get items made with some resources without actually having those resources.
Example
A guy could buy a diamond pick for 15 gold ingots...or something like that.
