I execute run.bat and it shows the following message...
The application will now quit. It should pick up the updated applet version when restarted.
So I restart the client, only to see the same message again and again...
I'm using the 1.5.4 version. Can somebody help me? I have the minecraft.jar in the 'lib' folder.

OS means Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP, Mac OS X v10.6, etc.
OS stands for Operating System.

Exactly the same with me. I downloaded all the files from here, only yesterday. It comes up with the same message. I have Windows XP by the way. I will try reinstalling minecraft.jar as it seems it's the only thing that might work...

I just downloaded the womclient 1.5.5, extracted it, put minecraft.jar into the lib folder, and the same message still comes up.

EDIT: InvisiblePerson solved the problem.
IF you have a cliente open, CLOSE IT before extracting lib\World of Minecraft to the desktop.

I receive a message that says the following:
10: Error occurred during initialization of VM
11: Could not reserve enough space for object heap
12: ERROR: Failed to run minecraft
13: JAVA6="C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\java.exe"
Now, I edited run.bat to look for any way as to how I might find out what the problem was, but I could not find any answers when seeing lines 72-75. I would appreciate a helpful response. Thank you.

FINALLY! It works. The hack works. All I had to do was to turn off Firefox which was hogging the RAM.
EDIT: Actually I had to update Java.

i have the same thing only when it shows the message about updating and restarting it deletes the content of minecraft.jar so it becomes 0kb and after that it just throws out an error again
