Okay, I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server (with craftbukkit) and I've got almost everything ready, currently I'm trying to port forward it. I am attempting to create a static IP to do this, but when I go into my network and enter in all the information manually, (getting the info from the ipconfig /all command in cmd) and hit "Okay" and close it, I get a warning that says, "DHCP not enabled" which I know is supposed to happen since this is a static IP, but sometimes I get an error that says, "Error in reaching DNS server" I have checked, done all types of things to verify that I have the correct DNS servers in CMD but it simply won't connect. All help is appreciated. My router is: SMC model: smcd3gnv

You don't need a static IP.
