For some reason, Minecraft keeps shutting my computer down. I have no clue why this would happen. It doesn't even shut it down completely. My screen goes black and my keyboard stops working, but it keeps running.
I have Norton security and I've done several full scans. Nothing pops up.
Some virus and other computer threats are so strong they can't be detected by antivirus software. Consider calling a virus removal service for a more effective solution.
It happens to me a lot. Ever since I got minecraft my computer has been randomly shutting down. Does anyone knows what is wrong. I think it might be a virus that is causing it. What do you think?
By the way Kirby and TMNT rocks!
well Norton is a horrible program. trust me on this. What i run and the rest of the house that i live in runs (mind you someone in the house is a it tech and uses these) is Microsoft security essentials spybot search and destroy and spywarblaster
it has nothing to do with your minecraft. There is something on your computer causing this more then likely. I would suggest you get rid of norton completly and use the programs i listed above. i recomond them.
Like The_Rich said, Norton is terrible. You might want to install an antivirus like Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials just to be on the safe side
You all do realize this topic is from 2010 right? Lol
Not too mention a screen going black in a gaming/3D environment isn't due to any infections, it's due to video card issues...or bad monitor drivers...
This is from 2010 and as Wolf said its probably hardware.
BUT I suggest Spybot Search & Destroy as a malware remover thingy.
WoM Coins: 4
Well in my opinion, you proberly have your self a virus/malware because i dont think minecraft would do such a thing.
Firstly where did you download the paintery texture pack there site or mediafire etc?
Secondly does it only shut down when you open the game?
Thirdly download malwarebytes and do a scan or if you have a good antivirus scan with that.
Umm dats all i think of right now, but does it say and error messages etc or anything?
