Minecraft wont start

Every time I try to start Minecraft.exe it just says *Could not create the Java Virtual Machine* Could someone tell me how to fix this please?

I am a noob at this game so
I am a noob at this game so sorry if this doesn't work but here is what I do when I get problems like that..
1. Go to www.Java.com and install the latest version.
2. Re-install Minecraft making sure to do everything right.
3. Restart my computer.. Sometimes works with my laptop lol.
