how did you install the

how did you install the texture pack? if you placed it in the minecraft.jar file, you will probably have to delete it and then update (so it places a new file).

If you just placed the zip in the texture packs folder i don't know.

Try deleting the .minecraft\bin directory...

... you might find that deleting the .minecraft/bin directory (in %APPDATA% if you're using Windows) might help. When you start Minecraft next, it should force the game to re-download. This might fix your issue, or it might not. If it doesn't, go back and delete .minecraft/texturepacks - as some texturepacks do not have the latest image sets (some objects/items/splash screens) are missing and can cause the game to crash. If this doesn't help, backup  .minecraft/saves (copy them to your desktop or somewhere else), and then delete the  .minecraft folder completely, and then re-run the game - it will rebuild itself.
