I have been able to play Minecraft in the past with no problems, however
following a recent reformat, this is no longer the case. When I try to
run Minecraft.exe to actually start the game for the first time, I
recieve the Windows error sound and nothing happens.

I have
installed the latest version of Java, all my drivers are up to date, and
yet I cannot get the game running. I am running in administrator on
Windows XP Professional 32bit, exactly as I was before when Minecraft
was working. I have tried both versions of the Minecraft.exe file from
the Minecraft website, but neither work. I am also unable to run the minecraft.jav file or whatever, as it gives me the same problem. I also cannot run World of Minecraft, as it gives me the same error as well. I am however able to use the
browser version with no problems. I have also re-installed Java, but the problem continues

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can actually get Minecraft running?
