Alright so i get a fatal error when i try to download the missing file
Fatal error:
Error downloading minecraft.jar: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
I can't seem to figure out how to fix this, any1 else have this problem or know how to fix it? help would be greatly appretiated.

i have a similar message when im trying to download the
minecraft.jar, i have a pc , and ive never had issues with the
World of Minecraft client before =/ ive tried reinstalling it multiple times with no
difference and ive never had issues with it until the latest update, i
even tried manually downloading and putting the jar file in but it still
wont open =/
please help. thanks

Make sure you are using the Sun/Oracle JVM, not the open JVM.
