I've bought-en a new dedicated server from restone hosting! We currently planned on releasing it to the public about an hour ago but to technical difficult we're going to have to delay it a short while. Until then you can enjoy our current server host. You can still progress on this server and the progression will take place on the next world! So there is no effect on your current game play.

I'll be installing the dynmap plugin shortly to help keep track of users in-game. This will make it much easier to manage the server on us administrators. We're not exactly sure if it's going to be public yet. Also, we may be upgrading to the highest package available from our host!

I've made some extensive changes to the mob arena. I've added and balance a few extra classes to give the mob arena more variety. Also I've added 2 extra bosses and changes the health around on each one. The bosses will now be: Wave 10 - Cave_Spider, Wave 20 - Enderman, Wave 30 - EnderDragon. Also the new classes I added were the Assassin class and Berserker. Assassin class will contain a variety of high damage abilities but low armor. The berserker class contains the same content of the Knight class just with a strength potion. This will now allow you to train your axes skill via the mob arena. I'd also like to add that we've switched the worlds in which the mob arena is to help further prevent any lag in the main world and mob arena. One more thing I'd like to add is that we've fixed the falling through the world via the mob arena by adding water below it. This should stop the death completely.

I've adjusted the numbers and potions of the current classes in the mob arena to more balance them. Also expect the enderman boss to be changed soon because he sometimes will glitch outside of the arena. Which is no fun! I'll most likely change him to a blaze.

Performed a server restart to refresh the files. Server was backup almost immediately and running really smooth again. I'll begin adding server restart schedules every 8 hours to help maintain server performance.

Server is back online after an hour of downtime due to removing excess files from our ramdisk to help improve performance. Tomorrow we will be hosting a drop party to make up for the 24 hour roll back that has occurred because of this issue. I'll also be upgrading the host to perhaps get more head room for ram, cpu, and hopefully our ramdisk.

We've recently switched host to a much better host. This will stop the rollbacks that have been happening to us caused by our previous host. You can use play.minedream.info as the IP to connect to and it will redirect you to our current host. FPSBox has some amazing deals and customer service to offer us. This host has much better performance than our previous host. And the best part is.. It's actually located in the U.S. We set it up in NYC to give both U.S players and European players the ability to place with low latency. Glad we've made the switch. Not a single crash because of this host so far.

We recently tried to update to 1.4.4 but all of our worlds wouldn't load so we had to downgrade back to 1.4.2. Sorry for an inconveince this may have caused. I'll be posting a guide on how to downgrade your clients in the original post.

I'd like to announce that we've changed the world border to 7.5k for anybody who doesn't know. We've done this because there have been almost 500 unique users who've joined since the servers opened and we need more space for new factions.

Factions
The main plugin fueling the MineDream PvP server is Factions. This plugins allows you to team up with friends (or go solo if you wish) and create a Faction. Once you have created a Faction you can claim land and build yourself an empire - or a modest dirt hut if that is what you prefer! If you own the land, players from other factions cannot build/destroy there without using TNT cannons or creepers.
Faction Ranks
Leader - The owner of the faction. Has access to all commands (can only be one leader)
Officer - Second in command. Has the ability to claim and unclaim land for the faction and also set faction relationships. (can be many officers)
Member - Regular members without the ability to claim/unclaim or set relationships. (can be many members)
Commands
/f create (factionname) - If you want to create your own faction use this command, replacing (factionname) with the desired name of your faction.
/f claim radius] - This will claim the current chunk you are standing in for your faction, from bedrock to sky. Enter an optional radius to claim surrounding chunks too.
/f sethome - This command will set the home of the faction to where you are currently standing.
/f home - If you want to return to the faction home, use this command.
/f officer (name) - Promotes the given person to the rank of officer - Will demote them if they are an officer already.
/f disband - Will disband the faction, kicking all players and unclaiming all land.
/f (ally/truce/enemy/neutral) (factionname) - Will set the given relationship to the given faction.
mcMMO
Another core plugin on MineDream PvP is mcMMO. This plugin adds an RPG like experience to the server, and adds features such as trainable skills, parties and special abilities. The strength of your abilities depends on how high your skill level is in each particular skill. The party system allows you to team up with other people and share exp and drops when training.
Gathering Skills
Excavation
Leveled by: Digging dirt/gravel/sand with a shovel.
Benefits: Higher levels allow you to gain treasures whilst excavating such as gunpowder, ingots and potion ingredients.
Fishing
Leveled by: Fishing!
Benefits: Higher levels allow you to gain treasures whilst fishing such as enchanted armour and weapons.
Herbalism
Leveled by: Gathering crops.
Benefits: The higher your herbalism level the higher the chance of getting double the amount when gathering crops.
Mining
Leveled by: Mining stone/ores with a pickaxe.
Benefits: The higher your mining level the higher the chance of getting double drops. It also increases the length of super breaker.
Woodcutting
Leveled by: Chopping down trees with an axe.
Benefits: The higher your woodcutting level the higher the chance of getting double drops. It also increases the length of tree feller.
Combat Skills
Axes
Leveled by: Hitting mobs / players with an axe.
Benefits: Increased damage from axes. Increased chance of critical hits. Higher damage to armour.
Swords
Leveled by: Hitting mobs / players with a sword.
Benefits: Increased chance of counter attacking.
Archery
Leveled by: Shooting mobs / players with a bow and arrow.
Benefits: Increased damage. Increased chance of dazing other player.
Taming
Leveled by: Taming wolves.
Benefits: Smarter wolves. Extra health & damage.
Misc Skills
Acrobatics
Leveled by: Taking fall damage.
Benefits: Increased chance to dodge attacks. Take less damage from falling.
Repair / Salvage
Leveled by: Repairing items on emerald blocks or salvaging items on gold blocks.
Benefits: Higher chances to keep enchantments and restore more durability.
Voting
Voting is an excellent way for you to gain bonuses such as cash and help support the server.

Q: How big is the map?
A: The main world is currently 3,000 x 3,000 blocks, but will be expanded as the server ages.
Q: Why can't I build?
A: You can only build in your own land or the wilderness.
Q: How do I become staff?
A: Keep an eye on our staff applications forum. It will be announced there when applications are processed.
Q: How do I donate?

Q: Why can't I add sharpness to diamond axes?
A: As we use mcMMO and the axes skill, sharpness on axes is simply too overpowered.
Q: Can you please check my appeal/report?
A: Reports and appeals are checked periodically. Asking staff to check them for you will not get them checked any quicker.
Q: Turn off the rain!
A: The rain adds to the atmosphere and emmersiveness of the game. If it makes you lag we recommend using the mod Optifine.
Q: Can I use the mod ... ?
A: We generally allow any mod so long as it provides no advantage in PvP. Banned mods include but are not limited to radars that show player positions, inventory sort mods, hacking clients etc. We allow mods such as Optifine & armour status HUD.
Q: Can obsidian be blown up?
A: Yes, obsidian will be blown up after 3 consecutive TNT hits.
