- My name is Christina. I'm new to minecraft (third day playing) & I'm already obsessed. I have a situation though.. Mobs keep spawning in my house. Every day I wake up to pigs, cows, & sheep galore- & this wasn't a problem (easy access to meat/wool/leather) until creepers & spiders starting spawning in there. My house is completely closed off with brick (more of a fortress than a house) with two wooden doors. It's located on the edge of a cliff over the ocean & built back on the highest point of that cliff. I read on minecraft wiki that the animals spawn in light 14+ & creepers, spiders, etc. spawn in light 7 or lower... so this doesn't really make sense to me. Some information may seem irrelevant but I'm just trying to give a clear picture of what I'm working with! Soo please help me to understand why they're spawning in my house? Thank you!
Ive stopped using wooden doors for ones that go outside of my shelter.
Make sure it's not too dark in your house. As you said, creepers, spiders etc. spawn in <7 light. Places some more torches, and you'll probably won'tt see a creeper again there.
I made completely cobblestone walls, ceiling, & tiles but the problem persisted. I thought the light thing was the problem but I went crazy last night putting a torch every like four blocks & the problem still persisted (which theoretically makes no sense). However, I did change my doors from wooden back to cobblestone & the problem appears to be solved. Thanks murkcreepers!!! How did you know?
just seemed to work for me. im not actually sure if the wooden doors were the cause of the mobs getting in, but it helped me when i took them out. glad to hear it did the same for you
