My minecraf.jar file doesnt work???

So i got every thing i need, all the files and folders are on my desk top. I downloaded the minecraft.jar file and put in in the Lib Folder. But i Still keep on getting "Warning:\minecraft.jar not found. I dont know what to do and its getting really annoying, iv tried every thing. Please help

k what u have to do (i hope) is xtract it then run the .bat hope it works
