I bought minecraft last week and despite the lack of good graphics i enjoyed it extremely. I died at a total of 10 times before i finally got started and created a mountain house on a cool little island. I found three caves in my time there. All of them were pretty simmilair except one where i found both diamond, redstone and obsidian. I decided to make a portal for my first time out of the obsidian but it turned out to be my downfall. The portal was complete and i was about to go and get my dungeon gear from my chest upstairs untill an unfortunate accident occured. The flint and steel i had used for the portal was still in my hand.
I sort of burned my house down. Sad, i know. So i salvaged what i could and escaped out of the burning wreck. For some reason i suffered from a glitch during the dreafull fire. A ghast had escaped from the nether and through the portal. I ran. Right behind me were skeleton's, spiders, a ghast and a terrible fire. I put down my salvaged boat in the lake and sailed off. That is my sad, sad story.
Be sure to tell me if anything else that is simmilair to my situation has happened to any of you.

Sounds like you need help. =D and no, i always was quite happy in the game and generally I only go into the nether to get glowstone dust and other resources... (don't go there...)!!! =L

U think thats bad? Try making a wooden and cloth house, and then making a whole village of wood and cloth and call it: Terrorvale. (Yes I got that of a video) Then, have the game glitch TWO, YES, TWO GHASTS INTO THE WORLD!!!!! O_O The entire tow was destroyed... (On the funny side i did have the humans+ mod installed and they were living in there and u could here them dying! ) (And when i say living in there i mean forced into the buildings and then being trapped in there with a iron door with a turret in front of it!)

Well to make things worse I just set sail in my newly crafted boat while carrying everythging i could salvage. The boat crashed into a frozen lake and I was killed by a creeper. I made another boat and then set sail again. Eventually i mangaged to hide myself in a cave completely (with no entrance) so i decided to make a window upstairs and then i noticed. 10-15 monsters were right outside so now i'm trapped and i'm pretty sure this gigantic cave leads to a dungeon.

Things our starting to brigten up now. I looted a dungeon that i found under the cave i was settling in and have now set up camp deep within the cliffside of a mountain and put water all around the outside. So the only entrances are underground in hard to get to locations with doors and ladders and stuff. That should be enough fortification. I have also made an infinite source of water which i can use to put out any fires caused in the future.

Thats the worst story I've ever had the pleasure of reading about minecraft. Thats dam unlucky though, you have my sympathy and the knowledge that you brightened my day a bit.

Oh yeah...NEVER make a TNT house and then play with redstone around it!!!!!
I was just messign with redstone and i didn't know a wire pice was connected to a TNT pice, i flicked the switch and heard TNT and i was like: "WHAT??? WHERE'S THAT COMING FROM?" Then i relised a flashing TNT bit of my TNT house and then i was like: "FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
Yeah... so uh...don't do that! 8P

you made your house out of TNT? Isn't that a bit stupid, like calling a boat Titanic.
Anyway my grotto house is improving, i'm making a tunnel going back to the wreckage of my previous home at the moment.

Your stories are unlucky, mine is just sad.
I was building my enormous house....
and there was this friend of mine that said to make a portal to the nether so i did.....
what he didn't told me is that there are monsters in the nether (me noob)
so i tryed to find some resources....
Then i saw something that i didn't like so i runned...and it followed me...
It destroyed my whole house and i cryed ( no i didnt )
This was my sad,sad story

sad story and how stupid can you be to build a house of TNT, i mean, one fire and BOOM!, you where very unlucky and if it would come out that far; i should use options; peaceful, so i at least have got a chance of surviving.

Wanna hear my story?
It was my first try of playing minecraft.
I build a nice, little stone house and started to mine
And it was awesome. Do you remember your feelings when you saw your first diamonds? I was damm lucky. I discovered more and found a strangelittle rectangle, which was filled with something like sky or so (I know now that this is called "Void") However, for some reason I jumped into it.
I know i dont have to continue my story =(
It was f***ing sad and I deleted this f***ing world..

One time, i was in my mini-castle, i went to my mine (3rd floor below ground then it goes down), was lookin around and stuff, and i was bored, so i went to the floor (2nd floor below ground) where the nether portal is, (planning to go in) and going up to it, there was a creeper that jumped on me and blew up when i was going down my ladder, coming from nowhere, and i died.
I lost like half of my stuff that day. My houseand my minecart tracks were blew up D:
