Ok, so 2 days ago i was on the smp server in the market and my game suddenly crashed when i tried to get back on it said internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset. So i try to get on and im on for two seconds and it gives that error, i have tried many things to fix this problem (restart computer, reinstall minecraft, installing optifine and lowering lag) but nothing will work! My computer runs on windows 7 and has the newest version of java (i cannot downgrade java because another program i use needs the newest version). Can anyone plz help me or give me suggestions? Thx

You guess it. Problem here too.
Just been tiring my poor little mouse out on the hopeless effort of getting in to the SMP for a few seconds. Then only to be throw right back out with a little error; connection lost, connection reset, stream ended etc etc, but none of any help. Done everything too; reinstall, restart and this and that too. Other players can get in okay, except for us lot without having to doing anything to be the cause on our part!
Been a few days of this for me but did get in earlier today and last night. At a cost of being supper lagging. Had first thought it to be only me, until Lunick pointed out that, others are also having the same issue and not just you.
The odd thing about this issue is that I can go in to another server with out any problems so ever. Sure smooth sailing, no lag everything perfect, but it not the best server, it useful for a test. World of Minecraft server is the best there is as far as I'm concern, beside my house is in there. The point is, this problem is not with us players, but with World of Minecraft server and am sure that somebody sooner or later will be on to it to rectify it. Hopefully sooner as it can be a bit lonely in single player mode that also better then most servers out there. If however it not our beloved server then it must be somewhere between our ISPs! Maybe?

Yesterday the server was down for most of the day. It wasn't back up and running until the afternoon when MrSnowGlobe come back on. I then thought, that should fix things up. The problem we been having must have had been a build up to the server crash.
Log in, and in we go no problem, smooth sailing, no lag everything perfect at last hurrah. Sort out something on me and my chest. Attended my garden and look at my moo cow. Warp to the market and, a little slow but okay. Go to my shop to check on my stock but all of my chest where stone. A bit of lag in opening then too, once they turn back to brown chests.
Mr Lag. He was creeping back up on me. Chest started to taken longer and longer to open and closed, so too the doors. Warping to another place leave me standing at the edge of the world, waiting for the map to update that also taken longer and longer.
Soon after I thought; well can't do anything anymore, everything stopped, so let log out and back in, and see how we go. Alas it "Oh no. Here we go again." back to the same problem as before. Please see #8 above.
Have thought maybe, just maybe Firefox disabling Java, may have tipped something with the Minecraft client. No, I can still go to another server and there no problem there. Can play offline too and again, no problem there.
O why o why can't I log in, and stay in World of Minecraft SMP beyond a few seconds, without any lags building down to a halt!

I wonder how many other players have tried this one out?
Last night I tried out another set of DNS numbers after the usual problems. Then everything become fine! It seem like my ISP is trying to block publicsmp.womjr.com for some reason and if so, how to get them to unblock the public smp?
Bytheway, I'm only using a USB wireless broadband stick, not WiFi or a router.

I had a problem like this, but every time I was trying to connect to the server, the 'ping' I ad for the server was about 1 or 2 bars, so I passed it off as a faulty connection.

Can't possibly be a faulty connection all the time! As I said above, "...can still go to another server and there no problem there."
By "1 or 2 bars," are you talking about the bars next to the players name when listing the players while in game? If so, well I have been wondering what they are for. I use to had all bright green bars but now their gone and look just like everybody else.
Ping problem? Gee how will I fix that? If that is my problem? Any help will be welcomed....

I think get both java 6 and 7 installed, make sure the smp server is up. check your ISP/modem/router settings so that the server IP adress isnt blocked. Also make sure you *cable/internet bills are paid*, once that is taken care of you can try connecting to the SMP server again.
If you keep disconecting then perhaps it is due to a server plug-in, or multiple commands being spammed, or *admins* using 1 or alot of commands that just happen to lag the server?.
You might need to upgrade your internet plan, if its not a router-modem/admin command or plug-in problem.
Just posting a summary of what people have posted and complied them best as I can into 1 post explaining it as best.

First with my ISP own DNS server. From here to the USA and back again;
Next using the public OpenDNS DNS server. From here to the USA and back again;
That why I seem to do ok going via the OpenDNS as it a bit better. If I knew where the World of Minecraft SMP server is in the USA then a test there maybe a better clue for me.
Also, how do I make the Java process a higher priority in mac OS X 10.6.8 ? Last night have had a Java update so that maybe help a little.

The plants in all my gardens seem to grow so mush slower then other players garden. I sometime wonder if my port in to the World of Minecraft server may have a bug!

All plants should grow the same speed on the server, regardless of where they are on SMP.

Have contacted my ISP and they had suggested that I to try another ISP and/or connection. To see if the fault is with my ISP, the USB wireless broadband stick or with...
Been to the local public library to tryout their WiFi hotspot. Works well there.
On the way back home and thought why not try tethering my mobile phone and see how that go. Yep, works well too.
Back to my usual USB wireless broadband stick and so too back to the usual problems. No good.
This time have had taken out my SIM/USIM card and place it in to a Pocket WiFi Router. Again, work well.
It seem obvious my USB stick the blame. Lunick asked me last night as to how old it is and I said I had it since July 2011. Well, that it then, it old.
Next to get back to my ISP for a new USB wireless broadband stick and some extra Gb or something for all the trouble. This issue been with me for three or four months now as many of youse know, and the ISP had to get me to find the fault. Geez!

Have made contact with my ISP again for a new USB wireless broadband stick. This time, they had decided to give me an extra 2Gb on top of my 10Gb plan (Probably just for my puppy eyes.), and a new pocket WiFi extreme (A portable modem and router in one.) with ten hours battery life all for free! 12Gb for now on for the same price. Cool.
Oh! Wait, they're giving me more! (Really, no arm twisting needed!) For my mobile phone; $10 less a month for the next three months for the three months of crap I had to put up with trying to play on World of Minecraft SMP (Please see above.). Then after that they will give me 10% off my usual $30 a month plan for now on.
All well that ends well.
However I would like to give many a thanks to MrSnowGlobe for taken the time to look at the server to see if there any real problems. Special thanks also go to Lunick for his patient and continual support. Nichbal also deserve a thanks for his kind suggestions of twisting the arms of my ISP with puppy eyes. Also to all the other players for there understanding.
