Just putting this out there to begin with - I have no understanding of programming language and no real understanding of how computers work so if anyone can help me please try to keep that in mind when writing your responses :)

When you hit the dump level button where does the save file go to?  I haven't been able to find it yet.  All I've found in the way of minecraft-related items on my HD is the one containing data for Beta and the World of Minecraft application, no World of Minecraft folder or anything like that.  I have a mac if that's important.  Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

All I find in my downloads

All I find in my downloads folder is a .dmg disk image with the installer that tells me to drag the World of Minecraft game client into my applications folder.  I still haven't found the World of Minecraft folder everyone keeps assuring me exists...

Ok. Solution.

Why are you making this more complicated than it is?
The dump level file can be located in the same directory/folder as your World of Minecraft Game Client.
It has the word 'level' at the front of the name and has a .dat file extension.

Success

Got it.  World of Minecraft --> Show Package Contents --> Contents --> Resources --> Java.
