Not working.. ever

Ok. I've downloaded World of Minecraft, been messing with it for a while.
I can get on minecraft.net just fine, and on the regular minecraft client it doesn't say Can't connect to minecraft.net
But this thing is still saying can't retrieve server list or whatever.
Windows 7 64-bit.
Is it like this for everyone right now, even though we can get on minecraft.net?

I can't even connect to servers at all with or without the client. must be something Notch or whatever is doing right now.
I can get to minecraft.net but not to the server list. I think the solution is to get a big tube with Patience.

When I go to the downloads
When I go to the downloads page i click the first hack. When I get to the next page it says 'LOCKED'. What do I do?
