do nonpaying users have a reason to worry?

i think he'll check accounts for recent activity, then he will delete the inactive ones

he is going to clean out accounts which are unpaid AND are unused, IE: never logged into before.
He is not going to go removing active unpaid accounts...

Indeed. The unhighlighted word which should've been noted was unused. Notch's blog doesn't sugest he's going to start deleting accounts just because people haven't bought the game.. yet ;).
He'll just probably end up doing a database query which brings up reg'd users who've either never used their account or who haven't used their account in half a year or something like that, though i'm going to assume it's the former. :p.

I doubt he's going to clean out used accounts. Eventually, to a point when only paying player can play, he'll keep some of the most dedicated users who haven't paid. I can't really see Notch saying piss off to a person who registered 3 days after the game went online
