I only noticed a while ago that old topics get bumped when someone makes a topic with the same name, It's kinda confusing and I just wanna ask why this happens? Some topics might have a lot of the same name and it could get spammy or really confusing...

Yeah if I see an old topic I'll just lock it where possible :P

i dont know how any cms can make this mistake, almost EVERY forum type board should use a unique id to indentify on topics

i brought this up a while ago, only way i can see to fix it would be to have topics older than a certain age (maybe 6 months) get deleted automatically

It happens just for that reason, when they use the same name both topics are bumped. It's a glitch/bug that was never fixed.
