Now, I don't mean to offend anyone in particular with this thread, but honestly, I've seen alot of talk about World of Minecraft, and 98% of it is negative. So I'm here to talk to mainly the founders of World of Minecraft, the admins, etc.
There is 1 reason, and 1 reason only for why World of Minecraft is the most despised community in Minecraft right now; Elitism.
Yes, that's right. But I may have confused some of you. No, you guys don't act elitist. The reason you are elitist is your client wrapper, with it's hacks. The fact that the client wrapper checks your "griefer list", just seems elitist to many. And while I'm sure nobody has come here before to tell you guys to your faces that you're hated on a very big level, I'm sure you guys had a feeling all along.
Now, here's where I reveal what I'm really posting this thread for.
Your client wrapper has been hacked. What you might not know about me, is that I am a coder, a software engineering college graduate. I know my away around your servers, your client wrapper, etc.
I have successfully hacked the World of Minecraft client, and completely stopped the client wrapper from checking your griefer list. This version, dubbed "FTWoM Client" (take a guess at what FTWoM stands for) will be released soon enough, once some bugs are worked out. But I won't be publicly releasing it, spamming links and whatnot. This will be privately released to a select few people from my server. They will then be allowed to distribute it as they please.
As well, the software you use for your servers, and your special commands....I've duplicated them to perfection. Your special /whodid commands, and your little special features, those will be implemented into a server program I am working on that combines everything from MCSharp, MinerCPP, LuaCraft, Hive, Myne, etc. This will also be released privately to a few select people.
World of Minecraft may have the reputation of being the start of things like custom Minecraft servers, and a client wrapper with hacks, but I'm trashing that reputation. It doesn't take an idiot to make a custom Minecraft server without using code and such from World of Minecraft.

i know a few people on a server i visit alot that dont like World of Minecraft because of the whole "client thing checks the griefer list"
and i agree, it does seem elitist, but hey, they created it, they can do whatevcer they want with it dude.
but if you did actually hack the client, be careful with who you give it to man, otherwise we'd have a wave of flying speeding greifers on our hands.

yeah but still, the World of Minecraft griefer list isn't all "griefers",
i should know. i got into an argument with a World of Minecraft admin, and got banned and placed on the list.
i appealed, and thank god my appeal was accepted.
now i can use the hacks on my server to help me better administrate it.
but what the whole show has done, hacking the client to bypass the griefer list is a good thing in a way.
it helps those who have been put on the griefer list, but never griefed, such as a couple people on my server who are on the griefer list, but never actually griefed a World of Minecraft server.
so because i dont wanna end up on the griefer list again, im done talking and im gonna go to bed now.

Again, listen to the rules. Why would you argue with an Admin? Where I come from we call that Mod Sass and it's a bannable offense.

tell that to people who didnt start an argument with the admin, but it was the other way around, and ended with the admin banning the user.
i know several people who've been banned from World of Minecraft for the stupidest reasons.
and i know one of example of a place that thinks World of Minecraft is elitist.

i wish i could quote a few posts i've seen that were anti-World of Minecraft, but again, i value my ability to use the World of Minecraft hacks. so i'll not quote them.
and in my case, it wasnt my fault that the argument was started. i got pulled into the argument, and subsequently banned.

But yeah, the only people who hate World of Minecraft are banned users, no duh there. However, me changing your views shall reward neither of us. You can go back to playing in World of Minecraft with World of Minecraft Products while hating them, I have no problem with your views, although I find it strange one would do such a thing.
It also just occurred to me, I seem to recall conversations being agienst forum policies. I could be incorrect, but I'll stop anyway. Good night there.

Let me begin with a quick LOL!
Moving right along... Yes we have a lot of people coming here crying about 'Elitism' so you are not covering anything new. It is also ALWAYS griefers that are going the complaining so I guess this is just another one of those threads ;)
Client: Again you are not covering anything new by 'hacking' our hacks, this was done a long time ago and is something that any person with half a clue could perform and as we say to all the people that have already come here saying what you are, as long as you dont distribute it as "World of Minecraft" then its no bother to us, so knock yourself out! We do however recommend you don't release it for the sake of the minecraft community, all hacks are enabled on our servers so what you are doing is really damaging the other minecraft servers which is not very nice.
Server: I think you have missed the whole point of World of Minecraft. We are not here to go hurrhurr we are teh best evar, we are here to improve minecraft and promote the best tools available. Yes we do not release our private software but we publicize and recommend other software such as MC# to the masses. We developed these features hoping Notch would like the ideas and incorporate them into new updates (which by the way Notch has recognized our work and has informed us that some of our great features will be rolled out in upcoming updates)
So I know you came here to be the big man on campus trying to flame and get your name well known but I'm sorry to debunk your attack and let you know that its all been done before and you have the wrong idea.
Anyway, have a good day and let us know if you do bring out server updates so we can help promote more server administration options to the good people of minecraft.

In addition to all that H4X just said, I'd like to point out that...
We used to be like you.
We used to promote open hacks.
We used to not have a heartbeat check.
We got major burnage from the MC community. I'm not talking like people complaining, I'm talking about continual attacks, people hacking our server. DDoS attacks. The whole lot.
If you know what's smart, you'll think about releasing an open hack, because the community doesn't want it. And there are a lot of experienced hackers, crackers in the community who won't stand for it.
As anyone who was around back then can testify... It wasn't pleasant.
I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, mind you. I still believe hacks should be freely available as I did back then. But I do believe you will come to regret your decision, as do I and I'm sure a lot of other early WoMmers.

H4X and trid have already covered most of what I'd say.
1. I'm not seeing how it is elitist to choose who gets to use our hacks. I'm sure there are many many alternatives out there already. Like say, http://crappycomic.com 's client.
2. Also take under consideration, we do not spec anyone without hard evidence, and anyone can appeal. In fact, most of the appealers get approved.
3. And yes, we have been told many many times of your opinions of us. We've been aware from the very beginning. For a long time, we were trying to patch things up between the two communities. People apparently didn't want that at all. We've pretty much given up on it. Nothing they can do to hurt us any further at this point. We're still going strong.
4. I'm glad you're implementing our features into your own server. Hell, I'm glad you're making your own server. The minecraft community needs more of those. Many custom servers have popped up in the past few months, and they pretty much have all the good World of Minecraft commands already, so you're not innovating that much.
You really haven't accomplished anything with this post. We already knew all of this. We get one of these posts every couple months. All you've done is make yourself look arrogant and looking for a fight.
EDIT: Please remember that our members do not represent our opinion. Executives and owners do (near full bars). Some people read something stupid that one of them says and then claim that them = us.

I'd like to pull myself back into this topic by saying that this is untrue.
I, Canadian_x360a was put on the spectator list, for, if I remember correctly, having got into a verbal fight with an Admin (I forget how it happened, it was quite awhile ago) culminating in me telling him to "f*** off".
Now, I do regret my choice of words towards that admin, but I was placed on the spectator list. I had to appeal, and my appeal was approved. Mostly due in part to me padding the appeal, making it seem like I griefed (which I did not) and that I had "learned the error of my ways, and turned over a new leaf".
Now because I have access to the hacks, I
can moderate my server much easily (Such as chasing around griefing
guests who have the client).
This same thing has happened to many people who have come to my server, Canadian Multiworlds. They've complained about being banned from World of Minecraft servers for standing still, or having a World of Minecraft admin or whomever insult them (to which they slung an insult back and got banned). Then of course I hear the "and my appeal was declined".
I've heard it all, and while I'm not saying I 100% believe every story I'm told, as stated above, I've had my own ridiculous experience with the World of Minecraft admins.
All in all, as was stated above, I too believe that Mr. Show was just trying to "make a name for himself", and well, he's doin' it wrong. Believe me, I'd kill to have the World of Minecraft custom server software, what with it's /whodid command, and other valuable features. But I'm content with MCSharp.
And yes, my Give-A-f*** Meter is at -20 too. :P

You were never banned.
Also, we have logs of you griefing. You then later confessed (false or otherwise, it was later accepted as a confession) of griefing. We have tangible proof, you kept saying "OMG I NEVER GRIEFED" and then told a mod to "f*** off". The only reason your appeal was denied was because it was incomplete. We do not revise incomplete appeals, we deny them because people didn't take the time to do them properly.

Yeah, that'd be spawn-jails.
MinerCPP eliminated the need for spawn jails. It had a /guest command that worked similar to /draw (or /cuboid for MCSharp users) and allowed you to set an area that guests could build on, and have the rest of main be ungriefable by guests.
